PROFESSOR DAVID J BELLAMY, BSc., PhD., DSc., Duniv., OBE, Hon FLS, FLBiol.
Professor David Bellamy´s career spans 42 years, first as an academic then as a communicator in books, radio and television, and as a consultant and campaigner on matters environmental.
He is founder and President of the Conservation Foundation, former President of the World Land Trust (1992 2002) and President of the following organisations The Wildlife Trusts Partnership, Population Concern, Plantlife, Youth Hostels Association, WATCH, Coral Cay Conservation, National Association for Environmental Education, British Naturalists Association, Galapagos Conservation Trust, British Institute of Cleaning Science, Association of Master Thatchers, British Home and Holiday Parks Association.
He is the author of 84 scientific papers and 43 books. Since the early 1970´s over 400 television programmes on ecology and the environment have been written and presented by him.

NICK JENNINGS CHAIR PERSON
Nick Jennings spent the great majority of his career working in Industrial Training and Organisational Development, in Industry and the Public Service. Prior to retirement, he was Director of the Industrial Training Service for a number of years. Mountain recreation absorbed much of his time with periods spent in national roles, with, amongst others, the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand, the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council Inc. and the New Zealand Land Search and Rescue Organisation. Since retirement he has spent much of his time with a wide range of community and volunteer organisations and in exploring Neurolinguistic Programming and Conflict Resolution. Motorcycle Rider Training is also a significant interest.
JENNY JORGENSEN BA, LLB DEPUTY CHAIR PERSON
Jenny is Vice President of Makara Guardians Incorporated and the Makara Hall Association Committee Member responsible for Makara´s historic St Patrick´s Church and cottage. She is a Barrister and Solicitor. Jenny has a keen interest in outdoor recreation and is a veteran member of the Wellington Tramping and Mountaineering Club.
CHRISTINE GRACE SECRETARY/TREASURER
Christine, born in Makara, has continued her association with the area throughout her lifetime, and more latterly has been assisting her father in farming there. She has a passionate interest in the Makara valley and coastal area, and wishes to see the area preserved in an unspoilt state for future generations. Her career spans some 35 years in the travel industry, and she is a current Member of the New Zealand Institute of Travel.
DR HUGH BARR
Hugh has had a major interest in outdoor recreation nationally for 25 years. He believes the Makara coast and escarpment, its Walkway, and Quartz Hill farm provide outstanding rural coastal open space and landscapes, and must be permanently reserved. He is also an applied mathematician, business analyst, supporter of pastoral agriculture, and a Wellington Regional Councillor.
CHRIS HORNE BSc. QSM
Chris has interests in the study and protection of indigenous flora, fauna, natural landforms and geology; enjoyment of the benefits provided by protected lands, including tramping and photography. His memberships include the Wellington Botanical Society (President 2002/2003), Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society, Action for Environment and the Tararua Tramping Club

DI LUCAS
Di is currently the President of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects. She has some 29 years of practical experience. Di holds a Master of Landscape Architecture (Planning) (1994), a Bachelor of Science (botany), and is a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (1988).
JIM MIKOZ
Jim Mikoz is the Secretary of both the Wellington Recreational Marine Fishers Association and the Wellington Surfcasting and Angling Club. Jim is also the Honorary Vice President of the New Zealand Angling Casting Association and he represents the Wellington Region´s recreational fishers and the New Zealand Fishing Council on a number of Ministry of Fishery committees.
